NIAID ; and the local ethics committee IRB except for those SAEs that the protocol or other document e.g., Investigator's Brochure ; identifies as not needing immediate reporting. The NIAID Regulatory Compliance and Human Subjects Protection RCHSP ; and the local ethics committee IRB will be notified within 1 business day for all deaths and life threatening SAE's and 3 business days for all other SAE's and grade 4 toxicities. Thus, the anonymity of the Consultant is a disturbing feature of MRDP. We distributed brochures explaining about spina bifida and the SBAC and personally spoke to hundreds of people. Many of the individuals that stopped to speak with us are affected, in one way or another, by spina bifida. Several have spina bifida, others have relatives or friends with spina bifida and others work with people affected by spina bifida. Most of them did not realize our organization even existed. Several of the families have again made contact with us through our Outreach Committee. Overall, we felt that the festival was a tremendous success for both Public Awareness and Outreach. This year the festival will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 5, 6 and 7. Again the SBAC Awareness Committee will be there.
